I have attended the old form of the Mass for over 12 years in DC and now in Alexandria. Your characterization and slamming of Bishop Burbidge is false. I spoke to him directly months ago. He told me both forms of the Mass exist side by side in parishes across the diocese. He told me that he had to implement Pope Francis’s moto proprio. He said he would keep it available across the diocese.
Maybe you might consider that Bishop Burbidge is/was under extraordinary pressure but took to heart the pastoral needs of the people of his diocese. I dont like what is happening but compared to my old friends at St Mary’s we have exponentially more opportunities for attend Mass according to the Missal of St John XXIII. By spinning the story I know better then the staff of this paper that I have met maybe you should look at the risks and pressures Bishop Burbidge is under from Cardinal Roach.
Not a big fan of him, he crushed the Traditional Latin Mass in his Diocese.
Did he give a reason?
