Dude was silent for years. Bringing him out now means three important things: 1) They are worried Trump will get the nomination. 2) They don't think he will be legally stopped from running (no DOJ, no investigations bearing plums). 3) They think this will work / that anyone anywhere cares what Paul Ryan has to say about anything besides strengthening your lats
