The crime rate in New Orleans is so bad that this won't even make a noticeable difference, although these may be tried in federal courts since they were arrested by US Marshalls. The problem in New Orleans isn't lack of policing, although the police department is dangerously understaffed, but lack of prosecution. The criminals know that even if they are arrested, they'll be back out on the streets. There are no consequences, so the crime spree continues unabated.
