In the process, I peaked.
JK Rowling is not an “intolerable transphobe”, she’s a (talented) woman who could have sat back & been beloved forever, but looked around & paid attention as the intersection of trans rights and women’s rights has had understandable growing pains.
In many cases, one groups rights are being sacrificed for the other, with the most vulnerable women often paying the price. Here in Britain, we always want to support both sides but realise that in some cases (like DV Shelters), that is impossible.
And JK was paying attention.
JK saw the loopholes being created & knew that women needed a voice. So instead of sitting back & wishing everyone well, said “It’s got to be me, hasn’t it?”. She did something terrifying & amazing & used her voice, I suspect knowing damn well what was to come.
That’s bravery.
3 months of dedicated research & I cannot find a single truly transphobic JK Rowling quote that stands up against the scrutiny of journalistic integrity.
The abuse JK has endured is beyond forgiveness. Every death threat, r*pe threat & torrent of abuse, she has born w/ grace.
Shame on those who have framed her under the guise of “reporting” when you must know, deep down, you are just chucking out clickbait & stirring up hate. Shame on those who followed that propaganda without critical thought.
You’re burning the wrong witch. I stand with @jk_rowling
Already ignoring frantic phone calls from my agent demanding I take it down.
NO
"Trans-phobic" is a misnomer.
No one is 'afraid' of a man in dress. Although, if he tries to touch you or your kids, yes, then it can be very scary. Run.
Most 'normal' people believe the trans behavior is wrong..morally and and spiritually. Doesn't mean they're 'afraid' of them.
That's like some one calling you 'Drug-phobic' because you don't want your child to use drugs.
I’ve been a huge book nerd since grade school, and I have seen what she has endured. From what I can tell, the LGB community was looking for someone they could make an example of. A (Kanye) of the literary world. They turned her into a pariah and said, “This is what happens when you step out of line.” Everyone in the entertainment industry is expected to be a dutiful minion of the establishment. If you say anything even remotely as though it is outside of the box, you get the Kanye treatment and all the little blue haired haters come out of mom’s basement to shit on you.
jk helped themselves to alot of someone elses creativity but hey not being woke isnt one of them
after all didnt dumbledore suddenly be interpretted as GAY years later PLEEEZE
You deserve a medal for risking IQ points. But who cares what Rowland says.
transphobid, Trans repulsed, homo repulsed and lgbtq repulsed.
Repulsed is a good thing when it is evil that repulsed you. Groomers and pedosneed to worry, because that's the ultimate repulsion. When something is repulsive it usually gets squashed like a bug. God's word trumps the Constitution .
I wonder if she got her paycheck for her article. kek
That's to bad, someone needs to call a spade a spade.
nobody has really explained why being transphobic is a bad thing.
