With all the fanfare surrounding Elon, Andrew Torba of Gab has a warning, that i think we should be mindful not to lose sight of.
His key point is:
Freedom of speech without freedom of reach is the ultimate form of demoralization.
It is psychological warfare on your mind.
You keep posting and stay hooked on the platform—making Mr. Musk plenty of money from your usage—but your posts go unseen by anyone but yourself. You are allowed to speak but no one can hear you.
Torba complains about all his major competition as not really being Free Speech. So the criticism isn’t particularly unexpected. In fact if it hadn’t occurred I’d be suspicious.
In my opinion of late he mostly comes off as Salty Gab has for the most part stagnated as yet another copypaste of 4chan/8Kun /Pol board lite while other competition appeared and has took the moderate and normie audiences that had otherwise been going to GAB due to lack of options. And by extension the major moderate/normie content creators followed their audience.
There's a bit too much Elon praise, and during times like that, just like when the media is praising something, it's good to put yourself on alert to be weary of any inconsistencies.
I'm still on the fence about Elon, but Torba does have a point, because when i heard Elon say "freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach" i thought some similar things that Torba expressed.

My take-away is this:
