As a former US Navy Aviator with over 10K logged flight hours on a long range heavyweight patrol aircraft called the P3 Orion, The earth is NOT flat. If it were then none of the navigational flight headings would ever get you to where you are going because they only recognize a ROUND earth for navigational purposes. It's simple, you can only have 360 degrees on something that is round. If it were flat there is no way to navigate that with degrees for setting the heading needed to get you where you are going.
No one said it is not round. In fact, most flat earthers think it is a large circle. We are saying it is not a sphere flying through infinite space at some astronomical speeds.
If it's a large flat circle and not a sphere then how would a plane find a way to fly to the other side? What heading should they set in the autopilot system to make that happen?
Magnetic north is in the center. South is outward from the center. ( I dont remember the name of this type of magnetic system...like a speaker magnet or something...) Anyway, this means that east and west are still in their respective directions. If you look at a flat earth map, you will see that when you fly east or west, you are actually travelling in large concentric circles instead of around a sphere. So making minor corrections left or right in a plane keeps you on course, as apposed to major correction in altitude (adjusting down so as not to continue flying straight into space) which would need to happen when traveling around a sphere.
