Our dog 'Izzy' is the only baby my husband and I have ever had together. She has been a part of our family for 13 of the past 15 years of her life. We will miss her greatly when she is gone; however; it won't be because of the climate. NOT TAKING MY DOG.
Amen. Today's dogs are mostly family members. Izzy gets a stocking for Christmas each year and she patiently sits back and waits while the gifts are unwrapped. Once the stockings come out, she knows hers is coming too. One year we held hers back for last and you should have seen the look on her face. It was a 'forgotten' look that was so sad. But when she got it, her tail started wagging and she started jumping up and down as if to say 'thank you' in her doggy language. She is part 'Jack Russel and part Beagle.' I wouldn't trade her for anything.
We paid $125 dollars for her; like I said 13 years ago. She was spayed, chipped, housebroken, and obedience trained. She was a last chance dog that we had found out through a friend who worked for this foundation. One look at her and we fell in love. She was worth every cent. Her name was already chosen and it suits her well.

I have dogs only also. They are NOT taking my dogs either.
