I’m not a total Luddite, as evidenced by my virtual presence here, but I dislike the misleading use of the term singularity to describe a so called conscious computer.
I’m with Sir Roger Penrose on that subject.
No machine can be built to understand.
The Singularity (to me) is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I don’t like the materialist rationalists to equate themselves to The Creator, but it’s to be expected I suppose.
I would not accept the Sacraments from an AI priest for instance, but maybe they’ll want to develop one to perform so called gay marriages. It may be the answer to losing tax exempt status in light of the “Respect for Marriage” bill passed today. I kid.
