Does that mean they meet on the 6th to decide whether or not they hear the case, or have they decided to hear the case and this is when proceedings start? Not a law-type person, so not sure what's involved with a conference.

Vote todecide if it will move forward. It has been distributed tonthe justices, and the defendents have already been served.
