Today, my heart rate is elevated and I don't like it. Never again.
Today is my first official day sober with the intent of never going back. Ever onward.

Very true....you need to understand why to stop.
Make a list.
Society applauds drinkers...one of the boys...a girls night out....to brag how much you can drink ..how fast you can drink neurotoxins is applauded....It makes you 'one of them' grown up..accepted ...the whol culture is devoted to admiring sophisticated grown up people who swallow neurotoxins..poison their livers and cut short their lives. The worse factor is the loss of control of your Self..the conscience is dulled ..things are said and done that conscience would not allow if it wasn't stupid by the poison.
That's the worst of it
