Today is my first official day sober with the intent of never going back. Ever onward.

I did that over a year ago, congratulations! Your heart rate is elevated because your heart had to work harder with the alcohol. it will come down dramatically with some exercise. My friend is a PA and prescribed me some meds to lower my blood pressure, the threat of having a stroke is very real. I only took them until my body could keep it under 140/100. You will be able to sleep as well.
