Well, since our DNA has fragments of ancient viruses already (clutter zone) and they have been injecting people all over the world with something that seems to activate dormant viral strains in people, like herpes and so forth.. who knows? Sounds like fear porn, I remember them saying sort of the same thing many many years ago with and about the melting permafrost in Russia.
