I can't argue the legalities of Pence's constitutional stance, but I can say this: Pence's position dovetailed too easily and too well with what the DS wanted, the whole operation was rushed when there was no logical reason to do so, and dissent was entirely dismissed. All of that combined makes it seem that Pence's 'reasoning' for his stand was simply contrived to fit a preplanned agenda.

Today my farrier informed me that he thinks Pence did the right thing on Jan 6 (he brought it up) and that Indiana did well when Pence was governor. I didn't try to educate him to alternate points of view because I can't afford to alienate the only truly great farrier I've ever known and who's always been dependable for 20 years.
