This doesn't mean a damn thing. She's already announced she'll continue to caucus with the Demonrats, so they will still control all the committees. This is nothing but optics to fool the sheep.
However, there is something more to it, I think. Watching Mark Kelly "win" should have given her confidence in her next election. Yet you'd think she would not leave the party unless she thought it was dragging her down. If so, why would she think it was dragging her down?
For some time now I have postulated that Synema is some kind of reverse dem imposter. Like some day in the future we will find out that Don Jr. used to bang her back in the day and used that connection to recruit an infiltrator to the dems in the senate. Of course I have no basis beyond intuition for thinking it. And perhaps it isn't don jr, but someone else connected to them. She just doesn't make sense. Kind of like Manchin.
Remember not too long ago that there was some kind of fake news viral story about Manchin leaving the dems and joining the reps? Maybe the source was wrong about the name. I know Trump stoked those flames too, i just don't remember specifically what he said. And maybe Manchin will actually do that, but is waiting till the new Congress to surprise them.
If she was serious about leaving the Demonrat party, she would switch to the Republican party, or at least become an independent but caucus with the Republicans. As long as she continues to caucus with the Demonrats like Bernie and Angus King do, she is for all intents and purposes still a Demonrat in every way that matters (who controls the committees, who makes the senate rules for the next 2 years, who controls the day to day agenda on the senate floor, etc.), and it is crystal clear that she is not actually abandoning the Demonrats.
This is nothing more than an act to make the normies get all excited that the Demonrats are losing a senator. They aren't, they're just losing one of their (D) markings on paper. They stole the Georgia race from Walker, and this is their way of making the idiots in the population think that we flipped a seat in a roundabout way. Unfortunately, it will work because there are a lot of ignorant morons who know nothing about how our republic is supposed to work.
This means she won't be hassled on any side in which way to vote. She can vote her conscience.
Oh my sweet summer child…

Accurate statement.
