Think of the idiocy in how they justify it. Let’s presume that what he was tweeting was “dangerous super duper serial mithinformathon that threatens Our Democracy™“ or whatever these dickheads say. How did their response actually change this?

Basically, if the goal was to stop or curb these statements, it didn’t come close to working. Trump had 80 million followers. I am going to presume his account got millions of impressions a day. The threat to Our Democracy™ Continued unabated.

What they did is not much different than skimming an inch of water out of a 10 foot swimming pool to lower the risk of drowning. As if any meaningful difference exists before and after.

Now when it comes to trying to skew an election a couple of points…it is possible they had great success with this. Since we don’t know the true vote totals, we can’t even begin to postulate what the impact was. But we know they believed there to be an impact in their favor; otherwise no action would have been taken.
