It started imo in 2016. Paul Penzone was elected sheriff, and Adrian Fontes became County Recorder. They took office in 2017. Some people were aware that Penzone was sponsored by Soros, most didn't understand or didn't care about the implications. Penzone didn't make waves, Fontes looked ok on paper--proud veteran! He replaced Helen Purcell, who had served seven terms and botched up the 2016 election by cutting the number of polling places so there were long lines. Ugh, like mean tweets, we should be so lucky now. However, Fontes was going to straighten everything out. He started by not certifying the voting machines in 2018, one of the current complaints. In retrospect, he and Penzone were part of the setup for 2020. Fontes' actions led to him getting ousted by Richer, but now I'm thinking Richer was the designated successor so Fontes could run for SoS. How Hobbs got in as SoS was probably rigged too, but people weren't looking at this important office, only the governor race. Ducey won by not nearly enough over a candidate who would fit right in with Biden's administration.
