My family bred rabbits and goats when I was a kid. I know they breed several times a year, have short gestation periods and if scared or startled they will eat their newborn young and even reverse a pregnancy. They also have about 12-14 babies per litter
Weird and sick-I researched it when I was a kid for FFA because it made no sense to me and I learned that it was to keep predators away from their nest. One of those messed up things like dogs rolling in stinky dead stuff to mask scent from predators
That is sick esp since they symbolize innocence and purity. They don’t eat meat but they eat their young. Even crocs don’t eat their young. That’s cold.
And of course this led to another rabbit hole. Haven’t had time to double check if what they said is accurate but that’s interesting.
We need someone who knows everything about rabbits to get in here
