I found that odd as well, he didn't try at all to defend himself, could have been in total shock I guess but still, those fight or flight instincts should have kicked in

just basic self defense (hands up, eyes on your attacker) and basic jiu-jitsu would have ended up in a highlight reel when it went to the ground. TRAP AN ARM, SLAP ON A TRIANGLE
