This is the most important question to ask anyone who did not take the vax. When Trump announced Operation Warp Speed to roll out the vaccines within 9 months, I knew then it was bullshit. I've been in the medical communications for quite a number of years, and I know people who work in the pharma industry. I talked with people early on in the pandemic. One of these people confirmed what I already knew: It is impossible to take a new drug from thought to market in 9 months. There is simply not enough time to do that. Most drugs take around 9 or 10 years to get to market. I remember asking one person, What's the fastest a vaccine has ever been brought to market? This person said they spoke with a colleague, an M.D. in their pharma company, and asked them the same question. And we all knew what their answer would be. This physician said, "4 years. That's the fastest we've ever been able to do it." At that point we all knew it was bullshit. The doctor also said something like: The only way they can do this is if they already have [technical and scientific terms for lab-ready virus] in place. Or they're lying." That was it for me. As the pandemic orders heated up with work from home orders and masking, I knew it was all bullshit, but went along with it, because I got to WFH full time. I spoke with family about not taking the vax, but nearly everyone did, for various reasons. I skipped around jobs to avoid it. As the stupidity increased (peak idiocy was Colbert and his dancing homo needle heads in costume and also all the begging and arm twisting, one of my gigs actually had a company-wide raffle, a fucking raffle, to give away $$$ to those who got their shot!), I knew I made the right choice. Two gigs ago they made me sign a religious exemption. Last gig, nobody cared.
