Indeed. The public fell asleep somewhere in the 1950s to 1960s and abdicated their (our) responsibility to Big Government. How has that worked out? The lessons to be learned in the coming months and years will be that the price of freedom is eternal vigilance. We can never again take our eyes off of government.
