I've never understood why the Border Patrol and Military/NatGuard cannot open fire on anyone illegally crossing. You can shoot a home invader. Why not someone invading your country? Sure - give a warning shot and verbal warning to turn around... but when that fails - drop them as soon as they cross the border. It would only take a few of these making the news before illegal invaders would start to think twice.
