Another movie I wonder about is John Carter (of Mars). Similar themes but also director is Andrew Stanton. Prob lots of rabbit holes with him.

Anyways it is based on books by Edgar rice Burroughs and themes of ancient secret cults controlling history and fate of planets etc.
