Most likely true, it's playing hell with GPS positioning, and GPS has to be adjusted constantly because of it. It's been doing this for centuries, but has really sped up in the last 100 years or so. When (not if, when) the magnetic poles flip, it will take a couple hundred years for the new N-S poles to be established, and our magnetic field will be severely suppressed or nonexistent. This will allow many more cosmic rays to strike earth and humans and animals, and cause all kinds of mutations, illnesses, cancers, etc. I'm glad I won't be living through it.
