A lot of homeless would be much better served by casual renting arrangements (basically paying a few bucks to crash at unused commercial real estate). The business gets a free set of eyes guarding the property and the "tenant" gets to avoid the craziest homeless and have a place to stash their belongings and clean up a bit.

We have some of this in my state because the renting laws are good and lax. When liberals target these "unfit" spaces they put people on the street.
