Because Elon must be propped up as a conservative hero (to what end? Let's say I'm personally not as optimistic as most here). Nothing gets conservatives these days excited to support someone as owning the libs does, and the libs can be whipped into a frenzy about literally anything as long as their preferred celebrities tell them to do so
