What a coincidence this post popped up now. I have family that is in “banking” , not at the local level, and they just said the banks are pre-positioning monies at select locations in case there is a “run”. Makes ya think huh? 🤔
I keep a good-sized stash of cash at home. I'm thinking about going to the bank and getting more. At the current rates losing interest is not a concern, but lacking cash could be a major issue.
The objective of the TLAC is to make debt / equity holders absorb losses (allowing a "bail-in"), instead of using public funds and thus avoiding government intervention to save banks.

Do you think credit unions will also be subject to a bail-in, or are they safer? (ie, Navy Federal CU)
