Tesla is shipping FDA-approved ventilators to hospitals around the world free of charge during the coronavirus pandemic

Elon Musk said Tesla would send the equipment to hospitals where ventilators are "needed immediately for patients, not stored in a warehouse."

I thought at the time it was weird that so many ventilators were needed, and in retrospect I'm sure it was part of the fear campaign. How many people are familiar with them, except as ICU equipment? OOH! If you need a ventilator you're on LIFE SUPPORT! Naturally money should be thrown at the problem.
