What happens if suddenly money isn't worth much but people desperately want to do business together?
...that is where junk silver comes in handy....
... the dice allocation sucked...
I'll say this, the best way to save your hordes of old money is spend it quickly in the viable Industry..
...spend it before it loses more value...

They should get into rubber.
Trade and barter in a grey market.
If you know a trade, you better own a set of tools for that trade. Your services will still be needed but if you don't own the tools, then you're not going to be able to benefit.
Farming tools and stuff to grow food. Bins/water barrels/ soils/ seeds/ lights.
Warm weather gear, tents/sleeping bags/ lanterns, camping stuff.
Canned foods, dried foods, stuff for canning/preserving.
In the Cayman Islands.the currency was 1.25 what ever the US dollar was. An inter mediate group can preserve the strength of the old system with the new system through a changing ratio of valuation. The more viable your industry. The better the ratio.

The article is from 2015. I do agree having money in banks or mutual funds is risky. If you can't stand on top of it and defend it with an AR-15, it's not yours.
Here is a short video that is more timely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfY-jY6iuMQ
... truth is not diminished by time....
I agree but the article does loose some credibility since the article made it sound like the bail-in was going to happen soon and didn't. I think we can also agree that there is a huge storm coming. It's incumbent on all of us to protect what we have and prepare. Use the time between 2015 and now, to get our finances in order. Good luck.
...date fagging is an invitation to failure...
...howls...
Haha...so true. But we keep holding out hope.
“Hope springs eternal in the human breast;
Man never Is, but always To be blest.
The soul, uneasy, and confin'd from home,
Rests and expatiates in a life to come.”
― Alexander Pope, An Essay on Man
