Be sure your home has a ground rod. (Will be a copper rod in ground outside panel with bare wire going to it) if you don't your ground is likely just tied into the neutral inside panel going to grid. Wouldn't want to be grounding ones self to that.

Some are some aren’t. My last 3 houses had ground and neutral tied together inside panel.
