I'm not sold on it, personally.
The old design was simple yet effective. Also, the content I'm being shown on it seems to be more mainstream now. It's losing the "home video" charm.
That being said, I'm glad for their financial success.

Not happy that they removed Light/Dark theme from the drop down menu. I hate white bright backgrounds, especially at night. Sure I can use some add-on with my browser to make the site dark but its never the same. Why do these sites always make Light/Dark theme usage a signup feature? What stinks even more is they offered this feature already, and now remove it? That's not nice. Thankfully there's alternatives.

I do not fucking care about the design. They ask you for a mobile phone number to comment, so they can eat shit as far as I am concerned. It is a fucking honeypot
I agree that mobile numbers & other requirements are a huge turnoff.
You walk around with a tracking device in your pocket all day long. Nobody need your phone number to be a honey pot. It’s clear, they have full control of where you’re going, what you say, what you see, and what you purchase. There’s a microphone and a camera on your phone. They don’t need your phone number to track you and to find out what it is that you’re interested in. Just shut your phone down in the kitchen, and talk about two subjects. For two days straight, you will get suggestions in all platforms, in your inbox, etc. on those two topics. Less than 48 hours.
I don't care about layout if their videos would play regularly for me. They either won't even start or once they do, pause out constantly. No other app does that for me
