The way I figure it the team uses scenarios for comms and uses the one that seems most organic at time. There were probably several other diamond type comms they have queued (heh).

And I’m not entirely convinced some of recent dead are actually dead, some may be in witness protection status for later purpose. In such case they could plan comms out using a person’s “death”.
