Legacy media is actually reporting on this story and they have even pointed to Biden's talking point in the past that Trump was irresponsible with his documents. It's odd since they have completely ignored so many of his other corrupt dealings.
Today it was revealed that he had classified documents in his personal library at his home and in a box inside his garage. This is bad, as VP he did not have the ability to declassify and how did these documents get to multiple locations? Where were they in-between the time he left the office of VP and his library was being established? It's reckless that anyone could have had access, possibly even Hunter?
The attorney handling the investigation for the DoJ is one of the few that were holdovers from Trump's administration.
Is this part of the plan? Are the white hats flipping the script? It would seem like something Garland would try to bury, but has not.
It's an issue of optics and political support. If the GOP throws the book at Biden over "muh classified documents!", Dems will point the finger and say "B-b-but Trump did it too. That napkin was classified top secret!" The facts don't matter. The sloganeering will make this an easy talking point to blast out to low-infos, disinterested morons who still have the audacity to show up to vote, and to rally the Dem base with a little spur of TDS.
Trump will be fine. He'll defend himself. And the Trump diehards (~40% of the vote) will back him. But the GOP leadership and talking heads are going to find themselves doing a lot of explaining which they don't want to be doing when instead they want to be focused on rallying another 20% of voters from independent-minded people and RINOs to help fix this country. Why 20%? Because Dems cheat. GOP doesn't fight it effectively, so they have to meet a much higher bar to win on paper.
