I have a chronic illness (likely caused by 90s kid vaccinations imo because of when/how it started). And I really have to recommend staying away from steroids despite their effectiveness. Except for life or death situations of course.
They’re like a deal with the devil out of books. Sure, you get something now. You feel better, you might be able to work again, you get a worrisome health problem to pass. Etc….. But in many cases it’s just borrowed time that you have to repay with interest. And that interest is misery.
Theyre linked to a bunch of problems. But the most obvious ones were the weight gain and mood swings…. The weight I gained on them is VERY hard avoid and even harder to lose. I swear it’s not the same as weight I’ve lost before in my life caused by just eating poorly, it seems something causes the weight gained on steroids to have staying power. (Going to try detoxing when it becomes safe and see if that helps.)
Also, doctors are bad about instructing people to use it for durations the prescription itself says it should not be used. And I found that the doctors are generally in the wrong about this the hard way. Which I’m not proud of, but I was desperate and was relying on what they said they knew.
