More than two dozen in-house massage therapists were reportedly part of layoffs by the company last week.

As a reference: from what I remember, the Dot Com boom layoffs went on for a year or two (in the 2000s), until they peaked. And lot's of six figure earning "learn to program" software engineers started to then flood their resumes towards non-Dot Com companies. Massage therapists were probably embedded in those ranks.
