At one time I too drank. Of course I only drank beer, but that's bad enough. I had gotten this attitude that "If you can't beat 'em join 'em." Which didn't help my kids any. I finally woke up one day and realized that I didn't want my grandkids to know me as this person. So I quit April 10, 2014 and I haven't looked back. Sometimes God has to slap you in the face to wake you up so you'll stop what you are doing. And all it took was me popping open a can, taking a swallow and saying out loud, "I don't want this." And 'poof' it was gone. It was just that easy. God is wonderful. Amen.
Amen... I too quit cold turkey... I used to get up in the morning and before even taking a sip of coffee, I'd grab the bottle out of the freezer and take a huge pull from it... One morning I grabbed the bottle and looked on top of my fridge... From left to right I had from a nip up to a gallon and then back down to a nip all empty... I saw that and looked at the bottle in my hand and asked myself what the F are you doing??? I took that 40 dollar bottle and upended it into the sink, grabbed my trash can and swept the top of my fridge free of bottles... Been sober since... 😊😊😊
The Lord knows when we've had enough. Praise God, what a wonderful testimony. We are all sinners and have done things we are not happy about, but it only takes a moment with God to change all of that. Amen my friend. Amen.
Leaving for the day. Got to get 4 up for school, make them muffins, and then have a great day with my 2 year old granddaughter before the 4 boys return home. My son should be home tomorrow for a week and a half. They are tearing down the oil rig and moving it. He's in Carlsbad New Mexico. It snowed there and he made a snowman and sent his wife the pictures. I'm sure he'll be glad to be home and away from that, however we are supposed to get another 'very cold' spell while he's home. Read you this evening or tomorrow. Have a great day.
