Do I have this wrong? Should our military be used as their tool? Perhaps self interest is not the way to run the planet.

Last I checked, there IS no pipeline through Syria... energy out of Russia is being sold to other nations now in exchange for rubles... and Hillary didn't get an ounce of gold out of Libya.
These people aren't 'evil masterminds'. At best, they are simply evil. I don't see any 'mastermind' involved.
Yes, on Syria and Russia, thus far. Russia hard nut to crack, wouldn't you say? So your position is that the Cheney's did not have an interest in a pipeline through Syria, and that the Syrian War was not about a pipeline? And the Ukrainian war is not about bringing Russia to heel for their energy interests? Plans were foiled, thus far, as you know. Prove it on Libia. You cannot!
