Not real.
I don't really see how this would be real tbh. Most of those planes would have to practically be riding on top of each other. I could be wrong, but if I were to guess....it looks like someone took one plane and copied and pasted it multiple times. Photoshop is an easy thing to do nowadays.
People will do stupid things like this for attention or to cause unnecessary panic.
Look at the map, they are about 3 city blocks apart.
It looks like that to me, too. I was on there around the time all this happened and didn't see any of this. There was an RC-135U that appeared to be "shadowing" the balloon's trajectory over Missouri at 37k feet, but that was a single plane.
Suspect, I’m gonna say fake. I also don’t think they would be transponding if real. Usually I see lines of planes like this when they are moving them because of storms. I don’t think it’s clear when this screen shot was take, no date.
