Indeed. The alien card is the biggest card they have left and they know if they don't use it now, they lose it forever, along with everything else. They will likely have a sloppy rollout because things used to be so easy for them. These days, they can barely get a FF to work. Their covid narrative instantly went in about 15 different directions as soon as it started. I don't think they have their ideal setup, but they have no choice but to proceed anyway and hope it provides some sort of a way out. They WILL try to use it.
