Landmines off California?

I caught a Fox clip this morning in which they talked about the current UFO situation. One of the commentators quickly mentioned landmines off the coast of California being another concern right now. Did I miss something? I can't find anything about this anywhere.

No reporting on it anywhere, and I would expect this being the kind of the thing we wouldn't know about unless they WANTED us to know about it... perhaps lose lips by the reporter who knows someone in the USN?

Strategically, if you really wanted to fuck up the US supply chain and Pacific fleet, littering the California coast with sea-mines would be an asymmetric way to achieve that.
