Actually he died for the truth. He said he was going to be the biggest whistleblower our country had ever seen. He was killed shortly after that by "friendly fire" People won't believe a lowly soldier, but Pete had followers who would believe him so he had to die.
What I saw (no sauce available rn...) was that Tillman learned about the C-A using the war to re-establish poppy production. The Taliban had not allowed production of heroin because of religious reasons. The conspiracy theory being that re-establishing drug production was the real reason for invading Afghanistan.
Thats no conspiracy thats what happened. Loads of videos showing marines protecting the new fields. Then when afghanistan was given back to the taliban they instantly destroyed the fields and banned its production.
Not only the heroin trade was involved, but also endless billions in prescription pain killers.
Now they constitute it locally with Chinese precursor chemicals. No need for poppies anymore, bye bye Afghanistan.
