I suspect her role is to be the female minority establishment punching bag for Trump so the media can trot out the same old sexist, bigoted attacks on him as from before.

I mean, she compared Trump to Dylan Roof for opposing open borders. She has no base.

Agreed. And after that, Ron will come to her rescue, and pick her as his VP, to complete the polished turd politician image that the establishment republican party wants to portray to the public. And of course, that other glistening turd, Mike Pence, will endorse the duo.
