Speaking of 5G...when did we bypass 5G and move straight to 6G? My phone now only shows 6G signal connection being made

Serious question...how can we check to see which signal we’re receiving on our phones? I’m so not tech savvy. Thanks if you can help. 🐸

At the top of my phone when data on, the bars used to have a small "5G" written next to it, or 3g when signal low, but now it ONLY ever says 6G
