A big reason why I engaged less in PDW is that it exhibited the same damage as doom-scrolling any other social media platform: Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Go look up the psychological effects of doom-scrolling. It doesn't matter what the political leaning is, or what the topic of the website is.

Like many posters on this forum reminds us: we are in a war. Go read some history. The winning strategies are no different from life, or any other endeavour: always consider the long-term cost-benefit analysis. If all you do is emotionally react to forum thread titles, and do this for too long without a break, then you lose sight of long-term thinking.
