Incorrect armament was authorized by the second amendment. The targets were authorized by the letters of marque.
incorrect. 2nd amendment is allowance for armed state militia, not military for an officially recognized and congressionally authorized war with a foreign power.
That is not what I stated. The letters of marque authorize targets for civilians to engage with their armament.
You don't need letters of marque to own armament (warships, cannons, barrels of gun powder, cannon balls, etc.) ownership of armament is the right of citizens.
Incidentally civilians already owned this armament before the letters of marque were issued. They may have increased the quantity once their mission parameters changed, but they already had them.
