... once we get Trump back let's support/encourage somehow those farmers from South Africa or the Netherlands or wherever to come to the US to farm. We have the land. These would be like-minded people with similar values, the kind of immigrants we need and want. People focus on education and technical skills but farming should be one of the most in demand skills on the planet. Make America the World's Bread Basket Again. MAWBBA

I'm a little confused by the "we have the land" comment. The US is big but people own that land. 20 years ago my friends bought land in the foothills and spent lots of time clearing it and getting it ready for crops. I don't think there is easily farmable large sections of land that these people could just be given. Sure they work hard but they would have to buy tractors, build barns and dig wells or someone would have to help them out. I don't see why I would give them money instead of young Americans who would like to start out as farmers.
Re-posses the land China and Bill Gates have bought, One third of the country is Federal land, I'm sure some of it would be farmable. I am not suggesting disenfranchising our own farmers, their families or Americans who want to begin farming. I am saying prioritizing these farmers within the Immigration system over all the illegals.

If you repossess the Chinese farms all the Americans who were working on the land will be unemployed. Then you bring over lots of south Africans who don't know the region. It just sounds problematic.
The illegals in farm areas don't own land and aren't about to. They do simple things for dirt cheap. It would be a lot better if they weren't around but a majority of their jobs would be done by tractors.
