I came across this beautiful scan of this wonderful book that was adapted for the 1939 movie. The illustrations are amazing, and many are in multi-color print which I'm sure was not inexpensive to do at the time of publication.

Note that the "W. W." of Mr. Denslow is "William Wallace", no joke. He must have a very interesting Scottish family history to get that name? /s
The lion headed serpent is the demiurge?
Fashioning the World as they see fit. Reasonable.
Or was Baum trying to warn ?
Full review of illustrations for any cabal symbology would be interesting.
