I subscribe to the "starship troopers" philosophy that posits violence is always the answer, during civilized times we just disguise it with politeness. Every law carries with it the threat of violence enforced by men in blue if you dont comply. Every treaty's silent "or else" is backed up by millions of violent men in fatigues. Every election is the polite man's agreement to get things done without bloodshed, but take away the trappings of civilization and what are you left with? Groups of people making rules for other groups of people enforced by violence.
