More importantly, we have protection against double jeopardy. You can only be tried once. If the jury says you're innocent, the government can't try you again without compelling new evidence.

If you're looking at a corrupt (in)justice system with bought-off or worse, ideologically-driven judges, would you blow your wad trying to prosecute high-value political targets in a system you know won't convict? Would you try someone like Hillary in a court filled with Clinton-, Obama-, and Biden-appointees knowing that they'll never convict and you'll lose your chance forever no matter how conclusive the evidence? Would you do that when you know the system won't even look at the 2020 election fraud evidence? Would you do that knowing they seat jurors like the crazy wicca lady and threaten the other jurors and their families if they don't give the "correct" verdict (Mike Flynn's situation)?

Getting the system to work correctly (by which I mean produce a fair trial, not produce the outcome I want) requires a lot of protection of the various systems that make that court work.
