This is not that surprising. Most tech, and high paying finance jobs get significant pay in stock. For execs, it can be over 90%.
If they do not sell their shares regularly, it’s like they are not getting paid. I vest shares every quarter and basically sell 50-100% of my shares every quarter. If I do not do that, I cannot pay my mortgage.
So did they know and they dumped everything they had? Or do they regularly dump everything they have and this is just sensationalist news. The regulators / SEC will know the difference.

Some good points, I guess it’ll depend on if they’ve regularly sold shares in the past or knew what was coming and dumped as much as they could.
