She made a huge fortune by buying stock in Reebok when they introduced sports footwear for women that was cute as well as practical and comfortable. Part lucky opportunity and part good fashion prediction.

Maybe I misremember from the 90s, it seems that was the story then, when Reebok was suddenly the big name in shoes. She did already have money to invest obviously, from her talk show.
